Paronella Park

Paronella Park, is a Spanish Castle that is located within the rainforest and has the Mena creek falls running into it, it is a beautiful place with an amazing history, the castle and other buildings aren't all that old but because it had been abandoned for a number of years causing the rainforest to grow around it, so therefore it looks much more older than it actually is.

So Paronella Park was built by Jose Paronella who came to Australia from Spain, and worked as a cane cutter in 1913, he returned to marry Margarita in 1925, they then returned to Australia for a honeymoon, when then in 1929 Jose brought the land that the park now stands on.

Paronella park first opened to the public in 1935, then the park was reopened around 2009.
