Crocodylus Park

Crocodylus Park is a large research place for crocodiles as well as breeding as well, so therefore there is a lot of crocodiles here, and all of different ages, and sizes there is also both saltwater and freshwater crocodiles.

There is even the opportunity  to be able to have a try of crocodile meat, even take some of the meat away with you as well, there is a souvenir shop, and you even get to hold a baby crocodile which is included in the entry fee,
There is also other wild animals to see there as well, including Lions, Tigers, Birds and many more.

Darwin Museum and Art Gallery

 

 

 

 

 

The Darwin Museum and Art Gallery

is a good museum although in my opinion I feel it needs to have some more information about Darwin, how Darwin became Darwin, but otherwise the exhibits are pretty good, especially the cyclone tracy and also about animal life within the Northern Territory.

The Museum is open from 9-5 has a café, and entry is free.

Casurina Coastal Reserve

 

 

 

This is such a lovely and beautiful  area, the beach is so long and beautiful, looking out towards the vast blue water of the Arafura Sea. <3

 

This is a reserve which protects about 1500ha of costal habitats between the estuaries of Rapid Creek and Buffalo. The Larrakia people speak for this area, so therefore it is also a sacred area.

fishing is allowed here but you can not disturb rocks or remove shellfish .

there are a few things that you can see like WWII artillery observation posts, and also Old man rock (Dariba Nunggalinya) is an important cultural site.

Gunlom - Kakadu

Gunlom is such a wonderful area within Kakadu National Park,

you have to have at least a 4wd car if you want to come to this place as the roads are a bit bumpy and are much more suitable for a car that can cope with that terrain, once you get there, there is a bit of a steep climb up to the top of the cliff where you get a lovely view of the area, and then after a bit more of a walk, which is more down hill, you ccan go for a swim in the very lovely pools that are there :).

Kakadu

Kakadu National Park, in my opinion is just such a wonderful place to go and see, if you are ever visiting Darwin, Kakadu National Park is a few hours drive away from the city, you can either go here by your own way or go with a tour group.

there are many things you can do, sometimes there are certain areas that will be closed due to the wet season, Kakadu is a very large National Park within Australia, in fact it is on of the largest in the country.

Kakadu is also considered a World heritage site as well,

Kakadu comes from the Gagudju language


in a few different areas you can see some very wonderful aboriginal rock art which is actually pretty awesome to see and it is also great too that there are details on what the pictures are and what they also mean

There are also many fantastic places to be able to swim as well.
